I'm sure the original tablet was far enough away that it couldn't be connected ever if it were on.  It was over 300' away and in an enclosed metal building and if it were on the battery should have been dead by then after a few days

Anyway this is what I read about it.  Maybe it applies to something else but it looks like it means I have to "unpair" the two with the other tablet.
