Clarke Co, Iowa | Black Hawk Co, Iowa is in extreme drought but still from Jan 1 till now they have had a little over 3 inches of precipitation. Which just happens to be just about average. The most in the last 100 years was 7 inches the least was less than 1 inch.
Going all the way back to Oct 1 last year average precipitation is about 8 inches they are a little over 7 so yeh a little short in the water year. But not anything like the driest year of 3 inches total.
To be in extreme drought they should be in one of the 5 driest years in the last 100. | |
