Thumb of Michigan | I remember planting oats/alfalfa just as your grain drill is set. Alfalfa just fell on top of drill, then ground, oats were dropped to the openers, some alfalfa waw probably planted too deep, some barely enough, but all cultipacked in.. I don't remember planting oats light, because we took the crop off as grain (along with straw baled). The same MO was used with fall wheat/alfalfa establishment. All ground was plowed/fitted back in those days too. | |
