On your second question, I would suggest a used Samsung galaxy tablet on an appropriate network from straighttalk data only plan. $15/ month. I use the “red” branded straighttalk sim to be on Verizon network. So takes a bit to figure out/get the right tablet and right version of straighttalk sim. I found a galaxy tablet 2 that was the Verizon version on eBay.
