Northeast Missouri | Hmmmm....what would be great would be rubber tire treads like you mention or maybe heavy rubber belting, arranged in concentric rings around the waterer, pyramid fashion--like round raised garden beds. Only here, the inner ring would be 4-5' diameter. The next maybe 10' diameter, etc.
Gravel ought to stay in place better, and when more gravel is needed cattle shouldn't be able to scuff it out away from the waterer as quickly. | |
