Lots of land talk. When will you be happy with what you have??

When I was in my thirties I wanted 1000-1500 acres of paid for land when I retired. In my forties I said I would be happy with 750-1000. Now that I am in my early 50’s I have 2 parcels of land that I would like to own totaling 140 more acres than I currently have. I have a 145 acres I would sell to buy the 140 if it becomes available. So when it’s all said and done my acreage will end up around 400-450.

I am done chasing for acres and next year I will only farm what I own. Owning the grocery store has changed my opinion of chasing my entire life.

Pretty happy with what I have, other than the amount of free time I have, and I am getting to have more of that also!!!

Just one more farm and will have the exact amount needed. It's perpetual greed that drives capitalism. Your age will change your perspective but there is a whole line of young bucks running on three or four generations of family wealth trying to establish their own identity and self worth.
