Yes I agree. Heirs get the step-up basis and sell. Might be the parents wishes and planning or might be the heirs not be able to agree and just decide selling is easier.
I was more disagreeing with the timing. I think that land transfer/wealth transfer is happening now and 10-15 years from today the majority of baby boomers will have passed.
When is enough enough??
