Iowa | Hear this all the time…sell up to your crop insurance bushels but you still have to buy those contracts out if you don’t have the bushels. Everyone always says coops and ethanol plants will work with you in that situation but they don’t. U will have to pay and depending on when u realize u are short and what the market did after fall discovery price will matter. Someone change my mind on this. If it’s dry I try not to go above 90-120/acre. Last year i should have sold up to the insurance guarantee | |
