| Not sure I would consider that an epidemic. Hate to lose them, but calving difficulties can put a lot of stress on a young calf. Now if cows are calving on their own and it continues to happen then I would be looking for a nutritional issue.
Maybe you know this, but our vets taught us to sit calves like a frog that won’t breathe. This helps with fluid in the lungs. We used to hang them over a gate, which actually makes it worse.
