Subject: RE: Some data on Israel and Iran

S Illinois
Israel has done pinpoint attacks on singular targets in Syria. But places like Damascus were the initial attack Israel carried out against Irans consulate building causing last nights retribution attack, is only 60 ish miles from the Israeli border. There have been reports of Israel drones attacking actual Iranian soil. But here again these are the small type that can pinpoint singular targets and put small amounts of explosives on target but not the massive bombing of targets.

To really project power across the 1000 miles it’s from Tel Aviv to Tehran, takes more air power than Israel has or wants to put in harms way. Israel still has Hezbollah sitting on its northern border that is a more likely and harder to defend against attack point. Power projection with fighter aircraft only is a very slow process.

This isn’t to say Israel is weak, because it’s has defensive capabilities second to none in the area. But it takes a next level military to move that power 600+ miles to hostile territory and then 400 more miles through said hostile territory with air defenses so that one can hit larger scale/higher value military targets.
