Subject: milk from rBST-free dairy cows......

I don't want to lead the organic egg thread off on a tangent below, so I will start a new thread. Mike said his wife is using rBST free milk. How many of you have access or even know if your milk comes from rBST treated cows or not?

I always buy the cheaper store brand milk unless the name brand is on sale cheaper. Stores here usually carry their own store brand milk and possibly a name brand. "Here" the name brand is usually Cass Clay. I bet it all comes out of the same plant. I have never seen or purchased any milk labelled free of rBST in any stores I frequent. I'm sure in ag communities it's a non-issue anyway so the store proprietors don't fool with it.

As Suey said, rBST is not detectable in milk so it likely is only an issue to the hard core organic crowd.
