Subject: RE: milk from rBST-free dairy cows......

The large co-op we sell to comes around every year with "pledge" for us to sign that we will not use BST.

When he came the first year I asked "Whats in it for us? Do we get a higher price or anything if we sign it?" The answer was "No, you get nothing extra. By signing it, you help us as a co-op to be able to market your milk better." GAG!

We sign it because we don't use the stuff anyway and makes it no difference to us, but please realize if you are paying more for BST free milk in the store, the farmers (in southern WI anyway) are not getting any of the extra premium at all. All middlemen markup. No trickle down in BST free milk. Organic is a different story.
