Subject: We've used this receipe for probably 50 yrs +

Near Richmond, IN

3 packages of Junket Vanilla Ice Cream Mix

6 eggs

3 cups sugar

3 tablespoons Mexican Vanilla

1 1/2 pints half and half

Reg. Milk to fill mixer

This is for 1 1/2 gal mixer.

Beat eggs until well blended, add half & half and then mix in ice cream mix and sugar and vanilla.  Pour in ice cream maker and finish filling with reg. milk and stir to mix.

My family has made it with this receipe for probably over 50 yrs and always used raw eggs.  I just made a double batch yesterday.  Can't remember anyone ever getting sick from the eggs.  My sister tried to tell me I shouldn't use them but I just said we've been doing this for many years and no one ever got sick so I'm not changing.  Just watch though now I'll probably get sick since I bragged about it.

Sometimes the Junket ice cream mix (and the Mexican vanilla) is hard to find--you could always get it here:
