Years ago I stopped at a deli (Link's) between Lakes Ontario and Erie. They had a lot of things I'd never seen before. In the display case a cut of meat caught my eye. It looked like a loin but had been rolled in something -- I wasn't sure what. They told me it was pea meal and that the meat was pea meal bacon. I told them this was a new one on me -- and they said "You call it Canadian bacon."

Call it whatever you like, it's good stuff!
