With our certified scale, we take any hint of an inaccuracy quite seriously......for starters, it can mean a problem that is easier to fix now than let it go.......but most important, we certainly don't want any kind of a reputation of taking advantage of anyone.

Scale problems DO happen......but it is the attitude I'd be most concerned about.

We get axle weights by splitting a load (ie: pulling the truck part way off the scale), and I've never seen anything greater than a few hundred pounds UNLESS there were a problem with a scale.........in fact, that is one clue we get that we have a scale problem, axle weights not adding up to gross weight.

I'd be doing some double-checking of his scale......and I'd be pretty wary of his attitude.
