Subject: Re: 36" to 30" row widths

Owens Cross Roads, AL
I switched from 30" to 36" five years ago. I really like the 36" rows in cotton. My 4 row pickers are 2' wider and now my 8 row planters now fold. Yield has not suffered any and it gives me a little more room when running the hoods and side dressing N. I think I have lost a few bushels of corn with 36" rows. I would not switch back unless I quit growing cotton. Another plus is that one of my tractors has 20" rubber and the extra 6" is nice.
