| Studies done in Brazil with very low pH and high-clay soils show that unincorporated lime in no-till is more profitable than any tillage method of incorporation. See link:

In Brazil, pH readings in the 4s are common, and virtually all the lime that goes out is in continuous no-till. It works, and many of those soils are quite sticky clays.
Of course, infiltration and percolation are greatly improved with the structure that builds in long-term continuous no-till. And even if you think your soils are unusually low for infiltration, there is always *some* water moving into them, otherwise you wouldn't grow anything at all.
