north central Oklahoma | What mike said is true, but there is also the problem of time of availability of "N" to the plant. Someone correct me if I err, but UAN 28% or 32% (we don't have 32 here) is available immediately to the plant. Urea 46% has to go through a transition to convert to usable N, which requires temps above 50 degrees I think. So if one is kept out of the field until the latest days that topdress can be effective, 46% would not be the "N" of choice.
Liquid also usually a bit pricier than dry too, at least in this part of the world it is. | |
