Agronomists, is nitrogen all the same?

It depends on the year. Here in Central Iowa fall NH3 looked the best all year. Last year sidedressed N did not work very well due to dry weather. I think fall NH3 is the best way to go and if you have time sidedress 30-40#. Just get it deep and get it to seal good. Todays NH3 bars and equipment are much better than in the past. I just like the fall NH3 beacuse you know you can get it on, not be pushed, and dont have to worry about messing the soil up in the spring. Corn with fall NH3 also seems to come out of the streaking faster than spring NH3.
