I'm an economist, so you may not want to hear from me, but I'm not uninformed about agronomy. There is a good body of evidence of a positive benefit from placing NH3 (specifically, not just any N source) and P2O5 in a band together. There are numerous advantages to NH3, not the least of which being cost, and I really can't think of any advantages to other forms unless you are looking for rapid availability....and that is usually the opposite of what we are after for corn "here"...or are unwilling to handle NH3 for whatever reason.

In short, I would still use NH3 for the same cost, possibly even a slight premium.
