Subject: cover plates vs. small wire concaves in wheat

Elkmont, AL
I have a chance to buy some small wire concaves 90% wear about half price of new ones. I was planning on just running some cover plates over my large wires. Which setup works best? First time cutting wheat with this particular combine. Talked to M. Gorden in Louisville and he just about talked me into staying with coverplates. I like the idea of not having to pull out and change concaves. Im not going over a ton of wheat acres, but I don't want to do a crappy job. Looking for some experienced opinions TIA
