| Rebuilt a 404 a few years ago and the cam gear had slip also. The friend that was helping me knew what he was doing and found this problem . Can't really remember but do recall he welded a beed on next to a gear and stated that it won't move again. Rebuilt the engine and ran like a top for quite a few years . It was a 4230 with close to 10000 hours , Decent tractor but not enought hydraulics for what I needed now so it was moved . | |
