My .02 here, should probably keep my mouth shut but I really like a pto pump. They act like a controller in themselves. Once calibrated you can throttle up or down and the rate will be very consistent as long as you remain in the same gear. If you want to ease drift concerns along a fence line, you can throttle back a little and reduce pressure while maintaining gpa. Having said all that, I have been accused of being a backwards dipstick more than once.

I also like the 1/4 turn ball valves and a controller. You should be able to find a used MT unit pretty cheap. I have had an MT 3000 since about 92 or 93 and never had a moments trouble with it (shouldn't have put that in print!). We have been really well pleased with Tee Jet AI nozzles as well, very versatile in a wide range of applications.
