Culbertson, MT | Now this is going to sound far-fetched, but my wife's grandpa drove a Co-Op tractor from Minneapolis to Froid MT back in the mid-40's (trying to remember here). Those goofy things would run damn near 40 mph in high gear. They reversed the drive tires backwards and mounted a streetcar windshield on it. He drove it straight through to Minot, ND where they remounted the tires. He then took it on home. The family still has the tractor. Its about 750 miles from the farm to Minneapolis but thats taking I-94, so it was probably a bit further then. Grandpa Norman was a tough old bird...! | |
