Subject: When to harvest soybeans.

I tried a few acres of beans this year. They look like they will do alright and 75% of the field is brown. There are some plants that still have green leaves and pods on top and dried beans on the bottom. I walked out in the field this past Monday and noticed every once in a while a pod was opened up. Could these beans make it till next Wednesday or will they shatter more. Someone told me that if they are left for a while, they will open up on there own. Soybeans have not historically been grown in my area , so no one else around me knows much about them.
