We grow some specialty beans for food markets which are very shatter prone. When they are ready, you better get them out because before long you can literally stand in teh field and hear the pods popping open.

Normal soybeans which are grown here do not normally have this problem. One year we did over 1000 acres of custom soybean combining in March and the beans were standing just fine.
