Subject: Will a Field Cult work at only 2 in deep?

sw MN
Will a field cult work correctly at only 2 in deep? Compaction from a field cult was talked about on here few weeks back. The idea of using smaller sweeps and leaving strips for the roots to go down was mentioned. Would there be any problems with this running above the root depth of the corn plant? If the field cult is set correctly to operate at 2 in and shank extentions are used in the tractor tracks. Is they any reason this might not work or problems with it? I am just brain storming of ways to get around that campaction layer. Go ahead and tell me why it might not work. Thanks guys
