If you still are using the Oem camera your filter type will be RBG ( red, green, blue). In general terms, in NDVI algorithm, red is less healthy, green is healthier.

As I understand it, NDVI derived from RBG can be very suspect. To me that means you need to ground truth areas of your field to learn what it is telling you, but at least now you know where to look.

This is not to,say that nothing can be learned from using the incorrect filter type. In your examples, the NG (near ir, green) is pointing out something in the upper portion of your field that looks to me like a result of some kind of field operation. Once again, something to truth on the ground.

That is my observation.

Some more details on what it is your mapping may help.


I would add, I am not by any stretch of the imagination, an expert in this. I have started using technology this spring and am augering my way through understanding it.
