If you want to increase OM in the soil the best thing you can do is to sell your plow. A soil scientist once described moldboarding to be like an earthquake followed by a fire to the soil. The fire part being the rapid decompositon of the organic matter when the soil microbes have plenty of forage and oxygen. No-till is the best practice to use to improve soil OM.
