Do not drain the tank>>>>>>> All you have to do is pull the plug, have your dad standing by to put his finger over the hole. Clean and reinstall should only lose a gallon or so. Put a pan under it to see what comes out. Caution make sure you get the screen lined up over the suction pipe. is easy to crush the screen if you get panicky.
