It was a NH and the hay had a frosted look to the side of the bale from the stems being torn instead of being cut. Maybe because of the 3x4 bales?????
On the upkeep issue I would bet that if you started with 2 new sickle machines and 1 new rotary in 5 years the repair bill would be about the same since the rotary has more moving parts and is going to lead a tougher life since it would be run faster.
I wonder how the hydro will hold up always running that fast?
