Subject: 2388 rock trap or no rock trap?

North East Kansas
I had a question that people with experience might know. I am new to Case combines, but we are looking seriously at buying one. Our dealer told us that the rock trap design didn't work very good at all and that it caused feeding problems in tough green stem soybeans. He only equips his combines with a stone retarder in the feeder house. Is this really correct? We would like a stone trap, but if it causes feeding problems that would be a big problem. Combining Soybeans with a draper head or even a flexhead will bring in some rocks, and I have seen what a rock will do to the rotor. Should I forget the Case combine all together because of the rock design? Maybe the rock trap design works great, but we have a wierd dealer, but I just don't know the answer. I would appreciate any advice.
