At your age (no offense, applies to my age too) stretching, or at a minimum 'warming up' of some type would be advisable before sprinting.
At 17 we made fun of people who 'pull a hamstring' (pansy injury) - then I pulled a hamstring in my late 20s thinking I could still rip off a mid 11 second time in the 100. It hurts and takes a long time to heal.
