Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Thanks for the update although I didn't like what you told me. My original receiver and external HDD drive worked very well for many years.
I was not aware that they are so picky. I did a search on compatible HDD for DISH and the search responded with several. Apparently that is not the case. Possibly my "new" DISH receiver is the problem itself. My old DISH receiver would not recognize a working HDD disk. The new one doesn't either which prompted me to try the SSD which was a bad move since it messed up the SSD. Things were going from bad to worse.
I'm not sure how to proceed. The new DISH receiver seems fine itself but I would like the ability to record on an external device.
