NW IA
A 40ish year old tractor that sat for 20 years, and in your own words is a pos, and you are 17, shouts run in the other direction to me.

Let your mother get away from dealing with this in the estate negotiations. (With an uncle you don't get along with as a bonus)

Focus on a good and marketable education unburdened by iron that can't love you back. It is very likely your grandfather got rid of something back in the day that allowed him to move up to the TW 15.

If you decide at an appropriate time to start doing custom work as a way into farming do it with a plan built around local demand, reliable equipment and a realistic budget. Don't try to build a future around a money pit that could sink your 6K stash in a flash.

Just MHO, no offence intended.

Full disclosure. I have my Dad's SH Farmall in the shed, but it still has plenty of things to do around the farm.
