Since starting a roll between low and no carb 4 years ago I have found less and less desire to add gunk to any food with the notable exception of butter and salt.

Not so much salt on meat, more on leafy greens.

I haven't put ketchup on anything in 4 years and even thinking about it sort of makes me gag. Used to be a heavy user, but I think reducing sweets so drastically has altered my preferences for the better.

Butter is my all-purpose replacement for ketchup, barbeque sauce etc. Mustard is used as a binder for some things in the pellet smoker.

My wife and I have found that all of the recipes calling for added rubs are at a level of twice as much or more than we like. Moving to just salt and a little pepper.

Eating as I do now seems to be more enjoyable and satisfying than recreational?? Meaning by that that loaded up junk food would drive over eating.

I have never counted a calorie while dumping 40-50 pounds. I think the food I eat now does that for me in some sense.
