West Central Iowa
Chopped SS silage here in western Iowa for quite a few years. Usually have to cut, let it sit about three days, then chop in hopes it is dry enough to bag. Average yields are 10-12 tons on first cutting and 6-8 tins on second. This is clear seeded in mid May.
The stuff being cut in your picture is likely dry enough for the chopper to chase the cutter.
