It’s not financially feasible to take land out of rowcrop production to build fence and pasture so that’s not an option.
No idea what your location is but you might want to put a pencil to that, $4 corn and $11 beans isn't exactly great...
For what you're going to pay for that building/infrastructure to run 50-60 cows like a hogbarn you might be surprised because that cattle barn isn't going to grow any feed for those cows. Pasture acres grazing cattle in managed rotational grazing was the only black ink on the home farm this year. |
