All I know is that around here loggers are considered to be the biggest crooks you can find. If you haven't gotten multiple bids or the opinion of a forester that you are paying, watch out.


Same way here. One local guy is know to haul out semi loads and pay the own a thousand bucks or next to nothing. Im going to get a hold of our old logger that i know is honest and get his opinion then maybe get a Forrester in to make sure things are right.


Honest logger? Is that possible?

Get a forester involved! Have a timber auction, don't let them 'bid' it. The difference between what we were offered on 50 acres of woods vs what the auction brought was over $10k in our pocket after we paid the forester.
