McCanna, ND | Probably more cost effective to do rotational grazing and break even on certain crops (wheat/rye/hay). I use cows to add value to crop ground as that’s much easier to pencil (less/no manure to haul, “wasted” hay is already in the field to be recycled, hopefully will bump crop yield, etc)
It might pencil now but unless you can lock the profits in for 20 years I bet the cows aren’t going to pay their way ever year.
