lake Michigan shore line/Mason county | My oldest Brother did 2 tours in the Marines. He left as a easy going farm kid. Never was the same when he came home. Wasn't much about starting trouble, but you didn't want to cross him. He went from calm and cool to scary in about a half second. I have seen him calmly tell someone "I have killed countless men for my country, I will easily end you for messing with my property." Tried his best to lead a "normal" life. After 40 years home He still slept with a light on. Still couldn't stand tall grass. He had ten acres behind his house. Always kept it mowed short. He said If the grass was mowed no one could sneak up on him. He turned down 3 purple hearts because they pinned them on the body bags. He felt he didn't give as much as those boys did. Agent orange came and took him 4 years ago. Guess the jungle killed him anyway. Sure do miss him. RIP Edward F. Baker USMC |
