ecsd | Need some help on proper hookup with a Orthman 900 stack fold planter bar.
Have 1770 vacuum row units with JD lift assist wheels. Do I connect direct to 3pt. arms and center draft link or just 3 pt. arms as a 2 pt. connection or use a quick hitch with center draft link pin removed and use as a 2 pt. or do I need the center pin in for the rigid connection? Don't know if it should float on a 2 pt. hitch and rely on the lift assist to carry the rear or not. Pulling with a 7730 MFD and I know it will not carry it without the lift assist wheels. I have the lift assist wheels plumbed into the 3 pt. so when the 3 pt. goes up it causes the lift assist to lift it as well so I don't need to use a 2nd valve.
Another question is the wings, are they to be pinned or floating? When I pick the planter up the wings hang down some and they do have float design in the folding cylinders but they also have pin holes to pin them solid. Some input would be helpful. | |
