That's the only pic I have. The 4840 wouldn't pull the planter straight on flat ground. We used it in beds just fine. Needs fwa to keep it straight.
I would like to be 18r but it won't fit without major modification. We are on 38. We pick cotton on 6. With rtk and a good planter operator, no problems. Has every row shut offs so I can plant curves on 12 or 6.
The 18 rows can really make time, when the planter is down but on the ends, when turning across the beds, it really makes the tractor sway. Still running 12 row do-alls in front of the 18 row planters. Never seen an 18 row do-all and I doubt there’s a front wheels assist made that could keep the front wheels on the ground, if one was. |
