| Doug61 - 4/18/2024 22:28 We already are short large animal vets. Take away revenue generating tasks and more vets will move the the easy and profitable small animal practice. Full disclosure: I buy most of my vet supplies from VallyVet. So I'm guilty of the same problem. I pull revenue from my local vet to get the products I prefer. When he retires, will the area lose another large animal vet? I hope not but one neighbor says yes.
The problem with losing large animal vets is that people with large animals base their spending on economics.
People with pets base their spending on emotions. Emotions = no spending limit. Economics = the animal gets put down instead of spending $5000+ on a surgery.
