You made some very accurate observations.
There is a right and wrong side to the orifice. How much difference it makes I don’t know.
There will be a slight difference in flow with different lengths of hoses even using orifices.
Water won’t float the Redballs as high as fertilizer does. Even with more water flow. You won’t build as much pressure with water either since it flows through the orifice easier than fertilizer.
I’m not sure on your calculations. I think you may be closer than you think.
