Sharon, Kansas | This is the second starter I've tried for my MF 255 tractor. I returned the first one because it would start the tractor but it wouldn't disengage — I could hear the running tractor spinning the starter. So I returned it, guessing it was defective. It was one of the cheap eBay/Amazon starters that I've had good luck with in the past, but figured a few of them had to be bad. So I got another one from an A&I dealer. It looks exactly the same as the Amazon starter, and does the exact same thing — doesn't disengage. I find it highly unlikely I'd get two that do the same thing, so I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong or what could be causing these new starters to not disengage after starting the tractor. Any ideas? | |
