Sharon, Kansas | I guess I should have mentioned that the key circuit hasn't worked or been used in a few years. I've been just using a screwdriver across the solenoid for quite some time now. I know it's not safe and I know it's probably why my last starter didn't last as long as it should and sometime soon I'll figure out where in the circuit the problem is, but I'm just trying to start my tractor first. So I'm sure it's not a relay or key issue because nothing is hooked up other than the battery cable. Batteries are fully charged and cable is good - it starts right up, but the starter just sticks.
Shimming the starter makes the most sense as the next step to try. I'll do that next. | |
