Central IL | not the expert here, but, I talked to a LOT of folks at FPS about this conundrum.
It seemed the consensus so far is:
Isolated to ground applied.
Applied pre-tassel. (I was told this was off label?)
Seems the situation was brought about as they wanted to get the ground rigs through the field with minimum damage, (when the corn wasn't quite as tall) thus it was applied too early.
