Texas/New Mexico Stateline | If you have a rotor machine, just don't plug it when a big Russian thistle goes in. They will sure make a combine grunt. Row-crop headers work pretty well, especially if the stalks are pretty dry. The elevators around here won't even talk to you until the moisture is less than 15%, they like it really dry because they can't afford to dry it.
If you can't get a row crop head, try taking the fingers off the grain platform, and cut the crop against the way it is leaning. -If it is all leaning and down one way... |
