Subject: RE: New shed- Which posts

Paul, I usaully dont give much advice on here and mainly stick to just reading you guys great posts but I've went thru this a couple times in the last 10 years. First of all how old are you, if your 50 or so and times are lean and the grandkids show no interest in farming, etc, etc, I'd use just the 6X6 posts. If the shed is being built for the long haul, and you've got a little more change in your pockets the permacolum is an awesomw way to go. There are so many good, better, and best ideas out there nowadays it really depends on many things. I built a 60X80 in 1998 for general storage and a 54X54 in 2002 for a shop. Both sheds cost under 24 grand even with the concrete in the shop. I used plain 6X6 posts and do not regret it, the money I saved can bore a hole next to the original and set another if problem arises. Glad they are there now as this years crops look pretty lean, specially with those commodity prices sliding downward eveyday.
